Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

Nick Stella's Political Philosophy is true conservatism, fiscally and socially. Limited government intervention into American's daily live, Fiscal responsibility and accountability, socially conservative for social programs contribute to the fiscal accountability of America and its standing around the world.  Every law should derive its standing from the U.S. Constitution, period.  Nick is Pro Second Amendment and thinks anti-gun laws only restrict law abiding citizens - for criminals, by its literal definition means law breakers, means no law created by politicians will stop a criminal from his/her illegal acts.  Enforce the laws on the book and see to it lawbreakers receive their due justice.  As a licensed medical doctor, Nick Stella is prolife with two exceptions; in cases dealing with the Life of the Mother and cases of rape or incest.  These are medical decisions that should be made in consultation with the family and certified medical doctors, not by government fiat.  Dr. Stella believes that the use of abortions as a contraceptive is immoral, prochoice should begin with choosing the correct decision before having sex, responsible sex.

Position Papers

The Affordable Care Act

Why the ACA should be repealed and replaced to provide affordable and quality healthcare for Americans.

Some features of Affordable Care Act are beneficial to Americans, such as the elimination of the preexisting condition, however the manner in which the law as written and passed did not allow for a thorough review. We have seen multiple unintended-consequences of this law due to the failure of our leadership to understand the healthcare sector. The overlooked cost factors are another reason why the law needs a thorough investigation, reexamining the cost drivers, such as the recent report by the CBO (Congressional Budget Office) regarding the loss of 2 million hours of employment.  The ACA has also dumped millions upon millions of people into the Medicaid program," Stella said. "If you look at two people having the same disease process, but one having Medicaid as their insurer and the other having a third-party payer as their insurer, a private insurer, the outcomes for the person with Medicaid are worse.

Immigration Reform and National Security

Immigration and National Security are top priorties for the safety and security of the citizens of this nation.

Comprehensive immigration reform starts with three steps. First, we secure the border to stop the flow of illegal traffic back and forth without challenge such as terrorist, kidnapped women and children, drugs, guns and money. This has always been a National Security issue and must be job one. Second, a comprehensive overhaul of the work visa programs to protect our small businesses and their employees while providing legal status to documented immigrants to pay taxes and not allow dependency upon social programs. Finally, I will call for an audit of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services to rectify the gridlock of legal immigration. This will afford these individuals the opportunity to apply for citizenship, but will not advance them before those who have applied the right and fair way.

Economics and Jobs

Current policies have brought about the loss of technical and manufacturing jobs as well as business start-ups due to the current tax code and federal policies.

In order to strengthen America’s economy, the government must work with businesses and not against them.  Small businesses must be cultivated and allowed to thrive by freeing them from overly burdensome regulations and taxes, once again simplifying the process and streamlining government’s role in business operations, boosting the opportunity for entrepreneurship to flourish.  Small businesses created nearly 2 million of the roughly 3 million private-sector jobs generated in 2014 according to the Small Business Administration.  I also believe that the government should be working with large corporations in order to keep more jobs here in America, while maintaining a global market competitiveness.

By Repealing the 16th amendment and moving to a flat or fair tax process, thereby simplifying the tax code and applying justly across the population,  will also allow for overseas funds to be repatriated. The repatriated funds will then allow for the creation of new and higher paying jobs.  In addition, the death tax should be repealed. Also if we Repeal Dodd-Frank and re-institute Glass–Steagall legislation as it prevented large banks from becoming these large conglomerates that used investors and client’s funds in high risk activities.
