Experience

Biography

As a small business owner, Chris knows the struggles of making ends meet. Laid off, along with his whole department in 2008, he had to reinvent himself, taking the contacts he had made and turning that into a small media and marketing company. Everyday Chris has to fight for jobs and come up with creative solutions.

In 2011 Chris was fed up with the entrenched, bloated, patronage politics of Cook County/Proviso and decided to do something about it. He ran for the Village Council of Forest Park and won a seat as an independent in a tough 12 person race against heavily funded slates. During his time on the board he earned a reputation as a reformer, as someone who opened up government to the people, holding town halls and participatory budget meetings -things that have never been done in the area before- as doing business behind closed doors and keeping the public at an arms distance was/is still, unfortunately, the norm.

Chris wants to continue that effort of putting people before politics, of not being beholden to special interest money - of making decision that are best for and promote the 7th District.
