Joe Carlasare was born, raised, and proudly resides in Will County. His parents, now a retired fire fighter and retired teacher, instilled a strong work ethic in Joe as he grew up. He was taught that it’s important to live a life of service to others. Hard work and perseverance earned him a highly successful education that led him to the practice of law and honed his passion for democracy. After graduating magna cum laude from Loyola University Chicago with degrees in Political Science, Philosophy, and Economics, Joe earned his law degree atChicago-Kent College of Law, graduating cum laude. In 2014, Joe became one of the youngest adjunct faculty professors in the history of Chicago-Kent Law School.

Before law school, he worked as the Political and Finance directors for nationally targeted congressional campaigns and then served as the Political Director for the Will County Democratic Party and Frankfort Township Democratic Organization. He also worked in the Chicago Office of U.S. Senator Richard J. Durbin as an intern focusing on constituent services for Veterans. Joe has over a decade of experience working at all levels of electoral politics and has made it his personal mission to remain active in progressive politics in Illinois.


Joe served as President of the Young Democrats of Illinois from 2013 until 2015 and remains heavily involved in organizations and activities in his city, county and state. Joe knows that young leadership can effect much-needed change on many levels. He is a tireless advocate for the citizens in Will County, spending hundreds of hours each year doing pro bono legal work. Joe places strong value on continued involvement and service to others. He spends his free time teaching young students about career choices, politics and the importance of education, mentoring under-served youth, and volunteering for elected officials and other candidates.
